Who we are
A focused contractor for projects that cannot afford loose ends.
We combine conventional electrical contracting with specialist experience in EV charging, solar PV and battery storage.
That breadth matters. Modern energy projects depend on their underlying supply, distribution, protection, civils, controls and communications. Keeping those interfaces within one capable team makes the finished installation easier to engineer, deliver and maintain.
We work directly for commercial customers and alongside EPCs, consultants, developers, sales organisations and principal contractors. The role can be turnkey, white-label or a clearly defined installation package.

Co-founder & Director
Matthew Morgan
Matthew is an electrical engineer and clean-technology specialist with extensive experience building and leading renewable-energy businesses. He co-founded The Phoenix Works in 2010 and helped scale the company through its acquisition by Liberty Global in 2020. He later served as COO and CTO at Egg, supporting nationwide growth to more than 300 installations per month, before leading EV charging and renewable-energy design at Ivegate. At M&N Engineering, Matthew combines commercial electrical, EV, solar and battery expertise with a focus on buildable design and accountable delivery. He was GreenFleet EV Champion in 2016 and appeared in the GreenFleet 100 from 2017 to 2022.

Thomas Newby
Thomas is a founder, consultant and operational leader with deep technical experience across EV charging infrastructure, solar PV, energy storage and heat pumps. His strength is turning complex requirements into safe, reliable installations—organising people, materials and delivery under pressure across varied project environments. At M&N Engineering, Thomas focuses on technical problem-solving, operational delivery, regulatory compliance and customer service. He works closely with clients and site teams to establish clear requirements, maintain quality and ensure that systems remain practical to operate and maintain long after commissioning.
